The Elyria Animal Hospital has been providing personal service to families and their pets since the early 1960’s. Dr. Alex O’Roark has been a veterinarian here since 1992. The Elyria Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital including surgery, grooming, and boarding. Our Groomer is here first thing in the morning to style your pet (cat or dog), and make sure they are ready to go as soon as possible. We also offer boarding facilities to take care of your precious pet while you are away.
We are proud to be the only office in Lorain County (and one out of only a handful in the entire state) that offers a one time Radioactive Iodine [I-131] treatment for cats with Hyperthyroidism. This completely eliminates the condition with a single injection. We perform all surgeries using a laser instead of the traditional surgical blade. This greatly reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation. In addition we use a Companion Therapy Laser, it is used after all surgeries to promote healing and to reduce pain. It is also used for wound healing, arthritis, numerous skin conditions and many other ailments.
We are open:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 7:30 am – 7:00 pm
Wednesdays from 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
Friday 7:30 am – to 5:00 pm and also
Saturdays from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm for your convenience.
While the office is closed, we recommend that you contact the Lorain County Animal Emergency Center if there is an emergency with your pet. They are open nights, weekends, and all holidays to help you. Their number is 440-240-1400.
We welcome you to The Elyria Animal Hospital and look forward to being here for you and your pet.
